Hi everyone, my name is Cerrie and I want to bring to your attention what a great resource JSYSI is to this community and me. Jackson Street was a great influence in my teenage years. They helped me go from a irresponsible teenager to an adult who can be responsible, dependable, and well-educated.

JSYSI helped me find a purpose in life when I was struggling. At the time I went into shelter I was unstable and immature — now I feel like I can take on the world and learn anything. I am going to LBCC this winter and am studying to be a medical assistant, with hopes of being a nurse.

I can’t see me being where I am today without Jackson Street. Since I left the shelter and went out on my own they’ve continued to help me with goal-setting, planning, budgeting — any time I’ve struggled, Jackson Street was there to help.

So I ask you to take a second and just think if Jackson Street can help one youth like me take on the responsibilities of adulthood, then just imagine how much they can do for all the other youth out there who come through their doors seeking help.
